Setcreasea pallida 'Purpurea

Tradescantia pallida 'Purpurea'(Tradescantia purpurea, Setcreasea pallida, Tradescantia pallida 'Purple Heart' or Setcreasea purpurea) also known as Purple Misery, has narrow, lanceolate, pointed leaves, about 2 to 5 inches (5 to 12 cm) long, very dark purple above and lighter below. The fairly sturdy but brittle stem is also purple. Like most Tradescantia, this plant grows quickly and has a drooping habit. Perfect for hanging baskets. Tradescantia pallida 'Purpurea' needs excellent light to maintain its color. Unlike other Tradescantias, it tolerates full sun and can withstand some drought when well established.
