Philodendron hederaceum 'Aureum', also known as Philodendron 'Lemon Lime', is a colorful, vibrant variant of the classic Philodendron. It is particularly appreciated for its luminous foliage, which varies from yellow to lime green, bringing a touch of brightness and freshness to any interior space.

Origin: Native to the tropical regions of America, Philodendron hederaceum 'Aureum' is adapted to the moist, shady environments of tropical undergrowth, making it ideal for indoor living conditions.

Growth: This philodendron is a climber that can also be grown as a hanging plant. It grows rapidly under the right conditions, with leaves that spread over long, slender stems. Indoors, it can be trained along a support or left to droop naturally from a hanging basket.

Flowers: Like many members of the Araceae family, it can produce inflorescences of spathes and spadices, but this is a rare occurrence in indoor cultivation, and the flowers are generally less impressive than its attractive foliage.

Light: Philodendron hederaceum 'Aureum' prefers medium to bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves, although this variety can tolerate more light than darker philodendron types to maintain its bright color.

Watering: Water regularly, allowing the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Constant humidity without saturation is ideal for maintaining plant health without risking root rot.

Substrate: Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for tropical plants. The ideal substrate for this philodendron should include coconut fiber, bark of various sizes, pumice, perlite and charcoal to ensure effective drainage while maintaining sufficient humidity.

Toxicity: Like other philodendrons, 'Aureum' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can be toxic and irritating if ingested. Keep this plant out of the reach of children and pets to avoid any risk of ingestion.
