Raphidophora puberula 'Variegata' is an attractive tropical climber belonging to the Araceae family. Although there is little specific information on this variegata variety, Raphidophora puberula itself is known for its deep green, textured foliage, with leaves that can develop interesting and complex shapes as the plant matures. The 'Variegata' variety adds to this natural beauty with white, cream or yellow markings or variegations on the leaves, making each leaf unique.

Origin: Raphidophoras are native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, stretching from India to Southeast Asia, Australia and Polynesia. They thrive in rainforests, where they climb trees using their aerial roots.

Growth: Raphidophora puberula 'Variegata' is a vigorous climber that can reach considerable height if supported by a stake or other vertical support. It is perfect for adding a touch of vertical greenery indoors.

Flowers: Like other members of the Araceae family, Raphidophora puberula can produce flowers, but they are generally small and unspectacular compared to the plant's foliage. Flowering is rare in indoor cultivation.

Light: Prefers bright indirect light, but can adapt to lower light levels. The plant's variegation can become more pronounced under stronger light, but direct sunlight should be avoided as it can burn the leaves.

Watering: Watering should be moderate. Allow the substrate to dry out partially between waterings. Raphidophoras like humidity, but cannot tolerate soggy soil.

Substrate: A well-draining mix is crucial. A mixture for herbal plants, including perlite, bark and perhaps a little charcoal, is ideal.

Toxicity: Like many aroids, Raphidophora puberula 'Variegata' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can be irritating if ingested. We recommend keeping the plant out of the reach of children and pets.
