Philodendron bipinnatifidum (also known as the Philodendron selloum, 'Slip Leaf' Philodendron, Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum or 'Tree' Philodendron) is vigorous growing. It has large, dark green, glossy, deeply lobed leaves up to 18" (45 cm) long with edges so split that it gives the plant a disheveled look. It is often confused with Monstera deliciosa, but unlike the latter, it has no holes in its leaves. Botanists are divided as to whether it is climbing or erect, as it has been observed in its natural environment as erect and also as taking support on other trees to grow as high as possible. Reaching such heights, this philodendron is able to bear the sun better than most of its cousins. It becomes large and its trunk can reach several inches (cm) in diameter, it is recommended to turn it regularly so that it does not bend in one direction while trying to receive as much light as possible. One thing to note, it will like a moist substrate at all times and high humidity.

Family: Araceae
Origin: South America
Watering: medium to abundant, water before the substrate dries, but without soaking it
Light: bright to medium, can be direct, but without abusing it. If it lacks light, the leaves will become very dark green and the growth of the plant will stagnate
Relative humidity: high
Substrate: very organic, well draining and aerated, use our homemade potting soil
Fertilization: once a month during the growing season
Toxicity: toxic for animals
