Tradescantia pallida 'Variegata

Tradescantia pallida 'Variegata'(Tradescantia purpurea, Setcresea pallida, Tradescantia pallida 'Variegata' or Setcresea purpurea) also known as Purple Misery, has narrow lanceolate and pointed leaves, about 2 to 5 inches (5 to 12 cm) long. These leaves are dark purple with beautiful pink variegation. The fairly sturdy, but brittle, stem is also purple. Like most Tradescantia, this plant grows quickly and has a drooping habit. It is perfect for hanging baskets. Tradescantia pallida 'Variegata' needs excellent light to keep its colors. Unlike other Tradescantias, it can tolerate full sun and some drought when well established.
