Origin : Obregonia denegrii, sometimes called "artichoke cactus", is a unique cactus species. It is native to northeastern Mexico, where it thrives in semi-desert habitats.

Watering: This plant is drought resistant and prefers moderate watering. During the growing season (spring and summer), it is recommended to water the plant once the substrate is completely dry. In autumn and winter, reduce watering to allow the plant to go dormant.

Brightness: Obregonia denegrii likes bright but indirect light. Direct sunlight can cause burns on the plant's skin. If you grow it indoors, place it near an east or west facing window for optimal sunlight.

Substrate: A well-draining substrate is essential to prevent root rot. A mixture of cactus potting soil with an addition of coarse sand or perlite is ideal.

Flower Color: This plant produces white to cream bell-shaped flowers that appear at the top of the plant during the summer.

Minimum temperature: Obregonia denegrii is a hardy plant that can tolerate minimum temperatures of about 10°C (50°F). It is not hardy and must be protected from frost.

Growth Rate: Obregonia denegrii is rather slow growing, especially if grown in a pot. With optimal growing conditions, you can expect it to reach its maximum size (up to 10 cm in diameter) in several years.
