Ficus elastica 'Ruby'

Ficus elastica 'Ruby', also known as 'Ruby' rubber, is a colorful variety of the classic rubber. This popular houseplant is distinguished by its attractive foliage, which features a mix of green, pink, red and creamy white. Young leaves often have a bright pink hue, while mature leaves develop patterns of green and creamy white.

Origin: Native to Southeast Asia, Ficus elastica is cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions of the world.
Growth: Ficus elastica 'Ruby' has a moderate growth habit and can become quite large indoors, often reaching several meters in height. It is ideal as an accent plant in living or office spaces.
Flowers: Like other members of the Ficus genus, it can theoretically produce flowers, but this is a rare occurrence in indoor cultivation.
Light: Prefers bright indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves, while insufficient light can cause the plant to stretch.
Watering: Requires regular watering, keeping the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
