Euphorbia tirucalli 'Firesticks', also known as "crayons of color" or "fire sticks", is a striking variant of Euphorbia tirucalli. It is famous for its bright vertical branches, which turn red, orange and pink when exposed to sufficient sunlight. This succulent plant offers a spectacular splash of color in rock gardens, succulent arrangements, or as a centerpiece in interior decor.

Origin: Native to Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, Euphorbia tirucalli is adapted to arid and semi-arid climates, enabling it to tolerate drought and thrive in environments with little water.

Growth: 'Firesticks' is a robust plant that can reach heights of 2 to 3 meters in ideal conditions, although it generally remains smaller when grown indoors. It grows vertically, forming a dense network of fine branches.

Flowers: Like other euphorbias, 'Firesticks' flowers are small, subtle and less decorative than its colorful foliage. They may appear at the end of branches, but are generally inconspicuous.

Light: To develop its vivid colors, Euphorbia tirucalli 'Firesticks' needs full sun. Direct, prolonged exposure is essential to intensify the red and orange hues of its branches. Indoors, place it near a window with plenty of sunlight.

Watering: Watering should be moderate. Let the substrate dry out completely between waterings. In winter, reduce watering even more to prevent root rot, especially if the temperature drops.

Substrate: A well-draining mix is crucial. Use a cactus and succulent substrate enriched with perlite and pumice to ensure proper drainage and avoid excessive moisture around the roots.

Toxicity: Euphorbia tirucalli 'Firesticks' is toxic if ingested, and its latex can be irritating to skin and eyes. We recommend handling this plant with gloves and keeping it out of the reach of children and pets.
