Euphorbia leuconeura, also known as Madagascar Rubber Plant or Madagascar Euphorbia, is a popular houseplant belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family. This species is appreciated for its ease of care and attractive appearance, with dense, dark-green foliage. Euphorbia leuconeura is particularly remarkable for its ability to expel its seeds several meters away when they reach maturity, an interesting phenomenon that has earned it the nickname "the plant that shoots".

Origin: Native to Madagascar, Euphorbia leuconeura thrives in the island's tropical forest environments, where it can grow to quite a size.
Growth: This euphorbia is moderate-growing and can reach up to 2 meters in height in indoor conditions, although it generally remains smaller. It develops a thick trunk from which emerge large, oval, glossy, ribbed leaves.
Flowers: Euphorbia leuconeura flowers are small, discreet and yellowish-green. They usually appear in spring or summer, but are often less conspicuous than the foliage itself.
Light: Prefers bright but indirect light. Exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the hottest hours of the day, can burn the leaves.
Watering: As with many Euphorbias, moderate watering is recommended. Allow the substrate to dry slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.
Substrate: Well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix of potting soil, coarse sand and perlite or gravel.
Temperature: Tolerates a range of temperatures, but must be protected from frost. Warm, dry conditions are ideal, similar to its natural habitat in Madagascar.
