Euphorbia baoiensis is a succulent plant that forms a greyish-green vertical shrub. It mainly branches at the base. Its stems between 8 to 10 ribs are cylindrical, up to 30 cm long and up to 2 cm in diameter. The spines are about 1 cm long, are grey with red tips that turn black with age and are always in pairs. The pale yellow flowering occurs from spring to summer.
