Zamioculcas zamiifolia, also known as the ZZ plant or Faux Zamier, is a plant with dark green leaves that are smooth and shiny. Easy to care for, it tolerates drought and low light conditions well, making it a perfect plant for any setting. It is slow growing, but its stems can reach 3 feet (1 m.) in length. At this length, the weight will make them bend towards the ground. The new shoots are upright and a beautiful soft green. The leaves unfold as the stem emerges. It is normal to see darker spots appear on the petiole over time. Zamioculcas zamiifolia has good water reserves in its stems and tuberous rhizomes. It is thus sensitive to the excess of watering and it is important that its substrate dries deeply before watering it again.
