Zamioculcas zamiifolia, commonly known as ZZ plant or ZZ plant, is a popular houseplant, appreciated for its ease of care and attractive appearance. Native to East Africa, it is a member of the Araceae family and has adapted to survive in dry, low-light environments, making it particularly suited to indoor life.

Origin: The ZZ plant is native to the arid regions of East Africa, where it grows in rocky soils and savannahs. Its ability to store water in its tuberous roots enables it to survive long periods of drought.

Growth: Zamioculcas zamiifolia is slow to moderate-growing, forming thick, fleshy, dark-green, fern-like stems. The leaves are smooth, shiny and arranged in opposite pairs along the stems, giving the plant a very orderly, attractive appearance.

Flowers: Although flowering is rare in indoor cultivation, ZZ plant can produce spathes of small flowers, similar to those of other members of the Araceae family. These flowers are not generally considered a major ornamental feature of the plant.

Light: One of the reasons for ZZ plant's popularity is its tolerance of a wide range of lighting conditions, including low-light areas. However, it thrives in bright environments with indirect light.

Watering: Zamioculcas zamiifolia requires little water. Its tuberous root system stores water, enabling it to tolerate periods of neglected watering. It is advisable to let the substrate dry out completely between waterings to avoid root rot.

Substrate: A well-draining mix is essential for the health of the ZZ plant. A substrate for cacti and succulents, enriched with perlite or coarse sand, is ideal.

Toxicity: It is important to note that Zamioculcas zamiifolia is toxic to humans and pets if ingested. Its sap contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation and discomfort.

When the order leaves our greenhouses, the carrier takes over your order. We are not responsible for the risks involved in transport. Please contact the transport company directly. 

You must be present when your package is delivered, as we require a signature upon delivery. It is your responsibility to send us an email prior to delivery to advise us of your absence. If you prefer delivery without a signature, please let us know when you place your order. However, you are solely responsible for any theft or damage due to bad weather.

Delivery price:

    The prices are established according to the exact weight of the package, and not according to a pre-established charter. You can therefore be sure to pay the exact price of your order. We do business with several delivery companies, which allows us to offer you the best price and the fastest and most efficient carrier.

    Preparation of orders:

    An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you following the confirmation of your purchase. We ship everywhere in Canada only from Monday to Wednesday in order to avoid that our parcels stay at the post office on weekends. Local delivery is available from Monday to Saturday for the greater metropolitan area. You will receive your tracking number as soon as your order is processed and shipped, along with the expected delivery date. This number will allow you to know the status of your order in real time until its final destination. Please check your spam box if you do not receive a confirmation email. We do not give any delivery time due to the large quantity of orders to prepare.

    Orders cancellation:

    Do you want to cancel an order you have placed? We can only issue a refund if the order has not yet been prepared and/or shipped.

    Combine your order with an existing one

    We offer you the possibility to combine your purchases made on our online shop only if your order is not in preparation. Only orders to be shipped to the same address and name can be combined. 

    Winter Expedition

    During the winter months, insulation packaging + heating package are included in the transport costs. In case of extreme cold, we reserve the right to suspend deliveries until suitable temperatures return.

    Pickup in store:

    In order to provide you with quality plants, we ask that you pick up your confirmed orders, ready for shop pick-up, within 4 days of your confirmation email. 

    Returns:

    All our plants are final sales. 

    However, if you have received an order that is damaged, incorrect or has a phytosanitary problem, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt at info@serreslavoie.com. Please Include a photo of the product, its packaging and your order number. We will evaluate the situation and let you know afterwards if we proceed with the replacement of the product or a credit note.
