Alocasia amazonica 'Polly', also known as African Mask 'Polly', is a popular variety of Alocasia, appreciated for its spectacular, exotic foliage. This houseplant features pointed, glossy, deep-green leaves marked with white or silver veins that contrast sharply with the dark background, creating a striking visual effect.

Origin: Despite its name, Alocasia amazonica 'Polly' is not native to the Amazon region, but is the result of a horticultural cross. Alocasias in general are native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and Australia.
Growth: 'Polly' is relatively small compared with other Alocasia species, making it suitable for pot cultivation. It can reach heights of up to 50 cm, with a moderate growth rate under optimal growing conditions.
Flowers: Although rarely flowering in indoor cultivation, 'Polly' can produce aracae-like spathes, usually green on the outside and white on the inside. However, its main attraction remains its decorative foliage.
Light: Prefers bright indirect light. Direct sunlight, especially during the hottest hours, can burn its delicate leaves.
Watering: Requires regular watering to keep the substrate evenly moist, but not soggy. Good drainage is essential to avoid root rot. Reduce watering in winter.
Substrate: A well-draining mix is crucial. A mix of potting soil, perlite and peat moss can provide the right balance of humidity and drainage.
Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures, with a minimum of 16°C. Protect the plant from cold draughts and extreme temperature fluctuations.
Humidity: Likes high humidity. Use of a humidifier, placement on a tray of moist gravel or regular misting can help meet its humidity needs.
Toxicity: Toxic plant.

That's why we only work with reputable transport companies that offer affordable rates and allow you to track your package in real time to its final destination. When the order leaves our greenhouses, the carrier takes over your order. We are not responsible for the risks involved in transport. Please contact the transport company directly. 

You must be present when your package is delivered, as we require a signature upon delivery. It is your responsibility to send us an email prior to delivery to advise us of your absence. If you prefer delivery without a signature, please let us know when you place your order. However, you are solely responsible for any theft or damage due to bad weather.

Delivery price:

    The prices are established according to the exact weight of the package, and not according to a pre-established charter. You can therefore be sure to pay the exact price of your order. We do business with several delivery companies, which allows us to offer you the best price and the fastest and most efficient carrier.

    Preparation of orders:

    An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you following the confirmation of your purchase. We ship everywhere in Canada only from Monday to Wednesday in order to avoid that our parcels stay at the post office on weekends. Local delivery is available from Monday to Saturday for the greater metropolitan area. You will receive your tracking number as soon as your order is processed and shipped, along with the expected delivery date. This number will allow you to know the status of your order in real time until its final destination. Please check your spam box if you do not receive a confirmation email. We do not give any delivery time due to the large quantity of orders to prepare.

    Orders cancellation:

    Do you want to cancel an order you have placed? We can only issue a refund if the order has not yet been prepared and/or shipped.

    Combine your order with an existing one

    We offer you the possibility to combine your purchases made on our online shop only if your order is not in preparation. Only orders to be shipped to the same address and name can be combined. 

    Winter Expedition

    During the winter months, insulation packaging + heating package are included in the transport costs. In case of extreme cold, we reserve the right to suspend deliveries until suitable temperatures return.

    Pickup in store:

    In order to provide you with quality plants, we ask that you pick up your confirmed orders, ready for shop pick-up, within 4 days of your confirmation email. 

    Returns:

    All our plants are final sales. 

    However, if you have received an order that is damaged, incorrect or has a phytosanitary problem, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt at info@serreslavoie.com. Please Include a photo of the product, its packaging and your order number. We will evaluate the situation and let you know afterwards if we proceed with the replacement of the product or a credit note.
