Origin: Variant of Sansevieria, also known as Dracaena, native to tropical Africa.
Growth: This plant is slow-growing and forms clumps of dark-green cylindrical leaves, often with lighter horizontal stripes.
Flowers: It rarely flowers indoors, but when it does, it produces small, fragrant white or cream flowers.
Light: Prefers bright but indirect light, although it is very tolerant of low light levels.
Watering: Requires limited watering, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings. Too much water can lead to root rot.
Substrate: A well-drained potting mix is ideal.
Temperature: Withstands a wide range of indoor temperatures, but must be protected from very low temperatures.
Toxicity: Sansevieria boncelensis is toxic if ingested, causing irritation of the mouth and digestive system in humans and pets.
