Kyriu

Kiryu bonsai soil, also known as Kiryuzuna, is a soil mainly used for bonsai trees. Kiryu is used for bonsai because it offers the characteristics necessary for bonsai trees to thrive, to be used in a mixture with akadama :

• It provides effective drainage to prevent roots from rotting in stagnant water
• It allows good aeration for the roots, which is important for the health of the tree
• It fertilizes trees by retaining nutrients, and is rich in iron,

• Does not disintegrate easily and lasts for several years, but does not absorb much water for release to plants.

It has a slightly acidic pH of 6.5
