Bismarck Red Pepper is the creation of Rocco Maltesi, a native of Italy. To obtain this super-hot pepper, Rocco crossed his Skunk Red Pepper with M.A. Wartryx. The result is a stunning pepper, named in homage to former 18th-century German Chancellor Otto Van Bismarck. The Bismarck Red pepper produces exceptionally large, bumpy and nasty-looking chillies, usually taking on a scorpion-like shape. They ripen from green to red and have a pleasant consistency. Their spiciness rivals that of some of the hottest peppers in the world. These peppers are very productive.

The species of this pepper is Capsicum Chinense. Its heat level on the Scoville scale is extremely high. It offers a fruity flavor with smoky undertones.
