Agave parryi, commonly known as Parry's Agave, is a species of succulent plant belonging to the Agavaceae family. This plant is renowned for its dense, symmetrical rosette of thick, blue-green leaves terminating in distinctive black spines. Parry's Agave is often admired for its architectural form and ability to add visual structure to rock gardens, arid landscapes and succulent collections.

Origin: Agave parryi is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, where it thrives in arid, mountainous environments. It is adapted to drought conditions and can tolerate cold temperatures, making it frost-resistant in many regions.
Growth: This plant is slow-growing and can reach up to 60 cm in height and width. The rosette of Agave parryi can take several years to reach full maturity.
Flowers: Agave de Parry produces an impressive flower stalk, several metres high, bearing yellow or yellowish-green flowers. Flowering usually occurs only once in the plant's life, often after several decades, and the plant dies after flowering.
Light: Prefers full sun exposure. Direct light is essential to maintain rosette color and compactness.
Watering: As with other agaves, moderate watering is necessary. Allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Reduce watering in winter.
Substrate: Requires well-draining soil. A cactus and succulent mix, enriched with gravel or coarse sand, is ideal.
Temperature: Able to tolerate frost, Agave parryi is one of the most cold-hardy agave species, capable of surviving temperatures down to -20°C under certain conditions.
