Ficus altissima 'Yellow Gem' is a spectacular, elegant houseplant known for its bright, variegated foliage. Origin: Native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, Ficus altissima is a close relative of Ficus elastica. The 'Yellow Gem' variety stands out for its vibrant colors and ability to adapt to indoor growing conditions.

Growth: Ficus altissima 'Yellow Gem' is moderate to fast-growing and can reach a height of 1.5 to 2 meters indoors, depending on growing conditions. Its large, variegated leaves and upright habit make it an imposing, elegant ornamental plant.

Flowers: Like most Ficus grown indoors, 'Yellow Gem' rarely flowers. When it does, its flowers are small and discreet, with no real decorative interest. The plant is mainly appreciated for its spectacular foliage.

Light: This plant prefers bright but indirect light. Moderate to strong light helps maintain the bright variegation of its leaves. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn delicate leaves and cause brown spots.

Watering: Water regularly, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings. Ficus 'Yellow Gem' prefers slightly moist soil, but it's essential not to let the water stagnate, as this can lead to root rot. In winter, reduce the frequency of watering.

Substrate: A well-draining substrate is recommended for this plant. A mixture of potting soil for houseplants, enriched with perlite or coarse sand, is ideal to ensure good drainage and avoid excess humidity.

Toxicity: Ficus altissima 'Yellow Gem' is toxic to pets, especially cats and dogs, if ingested. It can cause irritation of the mouth, throat and stomach, as well as vomiting. It is therefore advisable to keep it out of the reach of pets.

That's why we only work with reputable transport companies that offer affordable rates and allow you to track your package in real time to its final destination. When the order leaves our greenhouses, the carrier takes over your order. We are not responsible for the risks involved in transport. Please contact the transport company directly. 

You must be present when your package is delivered, as we require a signature upon delivery. It is your responsibility to send us an email prior to delivery to advise us of your absence. If you prefer delivery without a signature, please let us know when you place your order. However, you are solely responsible for any theft or damage due to bad weather.

Delivery price:

    The prices are established according to the exact weight of the package, and not according to a pre-established charter. You can therefore be sure to pay the exact price of your order. We do business with several delivery companies, which allows us to offer you the best price and the fastest and most efficient carrier.

    Preparation of orders:

    An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you following the confirmation of your purchase. We ship everywhere in Canada only from Monday to Wednesday in order to avoid that our parcels stay at the post office on weekends. Local delivery is available from Monday to Saturday for the greater metropolitan area. You will receive your tracking number as soon as your order is processed and shipped, along with the expected delivery date. This number will allow you to know the status of your order in real time until its final destination. Please check your spam box if you do not receive a confirmation email. We do not give any delivery time due to the large quantity of orders to prepare.

    Orders cancellation:

    Do you want to cancel an order you have placed? We can only issue a refund if the order has not yet been prepared and/or shipped.

    Combine your order with an existing one

    We offer you the possibility to combine your purchases made on our online shop only if your order is not in preparation. Only orders to be shipped to the same address and name can be combined. 

    Winter Expedition

    During the winter months, insulation packaging + heating package are included in the transport costs. In case of extreme cold, we reserve the right to suspend deliveries until suitable temperatures return.

    Pickup in store:

    In order to provide you with quality plants, we ask that you pick up your confirmed orders, ready for shop pick-up, within 4 days of your confirmation email. 

    Returns:

    All our plants are final sales. 

    However, if you have received an order that is damaged, incorrect or has a phytosanitary problem, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt at info@serreslavoie.com. Please Include a photo of the product, its packaging and your order number. We will evaluate the situation and let you know afterwards if we proceed with the replacement of the product or a credit note.
