Pachypodium lamerei
Pachypodium lamerei, commonly known as the "palm of Madagascar", is an impressive succulent plant native to the arid regions of southern Madagascar. This species belongs to the Apocynaceae family and is renowned for its distinctive palm-like shape, although it is not botanically related to true palms.
Origin: Pachypodium lamerei is adapted to the dry, sunny conditions of Madagascar, where it grows in rocky, arid soils. Its ability to store water in its thickened trunk allows it to survive in extremely dry environments.
Growth: This plant is slow growing but can eventually reach up to 6 meters in height in its natural habitat. In indoor or greenhouse cultivation, it usually remains smaller, but can still grow into a large specimen over time. Its trunk is covered with long, sharp thorns, and it bears at its top a rosette of long, narrow leaves.
Flowers: Pachypodium lamerei produces spectacular flowers, usually white or slightly cream, that appear at the top of the plant during the growing season. The flowers are large, fragrant and attract pollinators.
Light: This succulent plant prefers full sun exposure to thrive and bloom. It requires high levels of direct light.
Watering: As a succulent, Pachypodium lamerei requires water infrequently. The substrate should be well-drained, and watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
Substrate: A well-draining potting soil mix is essential. Use a cactus substrate to ensure good drainage.
Toxicity: It is important to note that Pachypodium lamerei is toxic if ingested. The plant's latex contains alkaloids that can be dangerous to humans and pets.

You must be present when your package is delivered, as we require a signature upon delivery. It is your responsibility to send us an email prior to delivery to advise us of your absence. If you prefer delivery without a signature, please let us know when you place your order. However, you are solely responsible for any theft or damage due to bad weather.
Delivery price:
The prices are established according to the exact weight of the package, and not according to a pre-established charter. You can therefore be sure to pay the exact price of your order. We do business with several delivery companies, which allows us to offer you the best price and the fastest and most efficient carrier.
Preparation of orders:
An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you following the confirmation of your purchase. We ship everywhere in Canada only from Monday to Wednesday in order to avoid that our parcels stay at the post office on weekends. Local delivery is available from Monday to Saturday for the greater metropolitan area. You will receive your tracking number as soon as your order is processed and shipped, along with the expected delivery date. This number will allow you to know the status of your order in real time until its final destination. Please check your spam box if you do not receive a confirmation email. We do not give any delivery time due to the large quantity of orders to prepare.
Orders cancellation:
Do you want to cancel an order you have placed? We can only issue a refund if the order has not yet been prepared and/or shipped.
Combine your order with an existing one
We offer you the possibility to combine your purchases made on our online shop only if your order is not in preparation. Only orders to be shipped to the same address and name can be combined.
Winter Expedition
During the winter months, insulation packaging + heating package are included in the transport costs. In case of extreme cold, we reserve the right to suspend deliveries until suitable temperatures return.
Pickup in store:
In order to provide you with quality plants, we ask that you pick up your confirmed orders, ready for shop pick-up, within 4 days of your confirmation email.
Returns:
All our plants are final sales.
However, if you have received an order that is damaged, incorrect or has a phytosanitary problem, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt at info@serreslavoie.com. Please Include a photo of the product, its packaging and your order number. We will evaluate the situation and let you know afterwards if we proceed with the replacement of the product or a credit note.
