Peperomia caperata
Peperomia caperata is a popular species of Peperomia prized for its decorative foliage and ease of care, making it an ideal houseplant. Native to the rainforests of Brazil, this compact plant has fleshy, deeply wrinkled or veined leaves, which can vary in color from dark green to purple-red, depending on the variety and growing conditions. The textured, glossy foliage of Peperomia caperata adds distinctive visual interest, and its small dimensions make it an excellent choice for windowsills, offices, or as part of a houseplant composition.
Origin: Brazil, where it grows in the humidity of tropical forests, often under the canopy of trees.
Growth: Peperomia caperata is moderately growing, forming a compact, rounded clump that can reach about 20 to 30 cm in height and width. Its compact nature and relatively slow growth make it perfect for growing in pots.
Flowers: The plant produces small flower spikes on stems that rise above the foliage. The flowers are simple, in the form of white or cream spikes, and while they are not as dramatic as the foliage, they add an understated charm when they appear.
Light: Prefers medium indirect light. Too much light can cause damage to the leaves, while a lack of light can reduce the vividness of the foliage color.
Watering: Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings. Like other Peperomias, it is susceptible to over-humidification, which can lead to root rot.
Substrate: A well-draining potting soil mix is essential. A cactus and succulent substrate enriched with perlite is ideal for ensuring good drainage while retaining enough moisture.
Toxicity: Peperomia caperata is generally considered non-toxic to humans and pets, making it safe for use in homes with children and pets.

When the order leaves our greenhouses, the carrier takes over your order. We are not responsible for the risks involved in transport. Please contact the transport company directly.
You must be present when your package is delivered, as we require a signature upon delivery. It is your responsibility to send us an email prior to delivery to advise us of your absence. If you prefer delivery without a signature, please let us know when you place your order. However, you are solely responsible for any theft or damage due to bad weather.
Delivery price:
The prices are established according to the exact weight of the package, and not according to a pre-established charter. You can therefore be sure to pay the exact price of your order. We do business with several delivery companies, which allows us to offer you the best price and the fastest and most efficient carrier.
Preparation of orders:
An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you following the confirmation of your purchase. We ship everywhere in Canada only from Monday to Wednesday in order to avoid that our parcels stay at the post office on weekends. Local delivery is available from Monday to Saturday for the greater metropolitan area. You will receive your tracking number as soon as your order is processed and shipped, along with the expected delivery date. This number will allow you to know the status of your order in real time until its final destination. Please check your spam box if you do not receive a confirmation email. We do not give any delivery time due to the large quantity of orders to prepare.
Orders cancellation:
Do you want to cancel an order you have placed? We can only issue a refund if the order has not yet been prepared and/or shipped.
Combine your order with an existing one
We offer you the possibility to combine your purchases made on our online shop only if your order is not in preparation. Only orders to be shipped to the same address and name can be combined.
Winter Expedition
During the winter months, insulation packaging + heating package are included in the transport costs. In case of extreme cold, we reserve the right to suspend deliveries until suitable temperatures return.
Pickup in store:
In order to provide you with quality plants, we ask that you pick up your confirmed orders, ready for shop pick-up, within 4 days of your confirmation email.
Returns:
All our plants are final sales.
However, if you have received an order that is damaged, incorrect or has a phytosanitary problem, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt at info@serreslavoie.com. Please Include a photo of the product, its packaging and your order number. We will evaluate the situation and let you know afterwards if we proceed with the replacement of the product or a credit note.
