Ctenanthe setosa 'Grey Star' is an elegant houseplant, appreciated for its spectacular foliage that combines shades of gray, green and white. With its large, lance-shaped leaves, distinctly patterned and often slightly silvery, this plant adds a modern, sophisticated touch to any interior space.

Origin: Ctenanthe setosa is native to the tropical forests of South America, mainly Brazil. This plant is a member of the Marantaceae family, which also includes calatheas and marantas, known for their decorative foliage.

Growth: Ctenanthe setosa 'Grey Star' is a moderate-growing plant that can reach a height of 60-90 cm indoors. Its long leaves, which can reach 30 cm in length, are pale green or silvery-grey with dark green veins. The undersides of the leaves are often tinged with purple, adding an interesting contrast. The plant grows in a dense clump, making it an excellent choice for indoor plant arrangements.

Flowers: Indoors, Ctenanthe setosa 'Grey Star' flowers infrequently and inconspicuously. The flowers, when they do appear, are small and white or cream in color, but are often hidden beneath the dense foliage. The plant is mainly grown for its spectacular foliage rather than its flowers.

Light: This plant prefers bright but indirect light, mimicking the undergrowth conditions of its natural habitat. It tolerates low-light environments well, but bright indirect light will promote more vigorous growth and more intense leaf colors. It is important to protect it from direct sunlight, which can burn its delicate leaves.

Watering: Ctenanthe setosa 'Grey Star' likes constantly moist but well-drained soil. Water regularly to keep the substrate slightly moist, avoiding letting it dry out completely. In winter, reduce watering but make sure the plant doesn't suffer from drought. This plant appreciates high ambient humidity, and a misting system or humidifier can be beneficial.

When the order leaves our greenhouses, the carrier takes over your order. We are not responsible for the risks involved in transport. Please contact the transport company directly. 

You must be present when your package is delivered, as we require a signature upon delivery. It is your responsibility to send us an email prior to delivery to advise us of your absence. If you prefer delivery without a signature, please let us know when you place your order. However, you are solely responsible for any theft or damage due to bad weather.

Delivery price:

    The prices are established according to the exact weight of the package, and not according to a pre-established charter. You can therefore be sure to pay the exact price of your order. We do business with several delivery companies, which allows us to offer you the best price and the fastest and most efficient carrier.

    Preparation of orders:

    An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you following the confirmation of your purchase. We ship everywhere in Canada only from Monday to Wednesday in order to avoid that our parcels stay at the post office on weekends. Local delivery is available from Monday to Saturday for the greater metropolitan area. You will receive your tracking number as soon as your order is processed and shipped, along with the expected delivery date. This number will allow you to know the status of your order in real time until its final destination. Please check your spam box if you do not receive a confirmation email. We do not give any delivery time due to the large quantity of orders to prepare.

    Orders cancellation:

    Do you want to cancel an order you have placed? We can only issue a refund if the order has not yet been prepared and/or shipped.

    Combine your order with an existing one

    We offer you the possibility to combine your purchases made on our online shop only if your order is not in preparation. Only orders to be shipped to the same address and name can be combined. 

    Winter Expedition

    During the winter months, insulation packaging + heating package are included in the transport costs. In case of extreme cold, we reserve the right to suspend deliveries until suitable temperatures return.

    Pickup in store:

    In order to provide you with quality plants, we ask that you pick up your confirmed orders, ready for shop pick-up, within 4 days of your confirmation email. 

    Returns:

    All our plants are final sales. 

    However, if you have received an order that is damaged, incorrect or has a phytosanitary problem, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt at info@serreslavoie.com. Please Include a photo of the product, its packaging and your order number. We will evaluate the situation and let you know afterwards if we proceed with the replacement of the product or a credit note.
