  • Cucurbita pepo ripens early.
  • This is a variety of zucchini squash.
  • Fruits are light green and have a smooth cylindrical shape, generally between 16 and 18 cm long.
  • The seeds are hybrids.
  • These seeds are natural, untreated and free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Sow zucchinis and squash indoors in spring, before the last frost.
Outdoors, in early summer, place two seeds in a 5 cm-deep hole, 90 cm apart, cover with soil, water and protect under a cloche for warmth.

Cultivate the soil with compost, space plants 90 cm apart, water in dry weather, feed potted plants with tomato fertilizer twice a week after the first fruits have formed. Hand pollination can improve yields by connecting a male flower to a female flower.

Harvest summer zucchini young for best flavor. For large winter squash, limit each plant to three fruits by pinching off growing tips and removing unwanted flowers. Let winter squash ripen on the plant and harvest before the first frost, leaving a length of stem attached.
Store in a dry place for longer storage.
