In the garden: There are several varieties of mint: peppery, green, aquatic, chocolatey, Moroccan... It is therefore necessary to pay attention to the full name because each one has its own particularity in terms of taste. On the other hand, they have identical needs: solitude and a partially shady place. The mint is not a good companion; it is an aggressive plant that completely invades space.
In the kitchen: Did you know that by adding a few fresh mint leaves to the water in a vase, your bouquet will last longer? And mint can be found everywhere on the market: in medicines, chewing gum, toothpaste and soaps, but of course in the kitchen, in both sweet and savoury dishes !
Here are a few suggestions for use to enhance your meals:
-Jelly, sauce or dips to accompany lamb or other meats and vegetables
-Spring rolls, Asian salads and stir-fry
-Herbal tea, cocktails and flavoured water
-Fruit salad, chocolate dessert and jams
-Frozen yoghurt/sorbet
For health: In addition to being refreshing, helping digestion and soothing the discomfort of a cold, fresh mint is a source of iron and manganese, and has antioxidant compounds called rosmarinic acid and flavonoids.
