Echeveria 'Chantilly' Hybrid: Echeveria 'Chantilly' is an attractive Echeveria hybrid, appreciated for its unique foliage and aesthetic form. As with many Echeveria hybrids, this variety is distinguished by its fleshy, often colorful leaves, which form a compact, symmetrical rosette. The leaves of Echeveria 'Chantilly' can be shades of green, pink, red or purple, depending on growing conditions, including light exposure and temperature.
Origin: Echeverias are native to the semi-desert regions of Mexico and Central America. Hybrids such as Echeveria 'Chantilly' are created by growers for their beauty, resilience and diversity of color and form.
Growth: Echeveria 'Chantilly' is a moderate grower and can reach a respectable size for a succulent, with rosettes extending to several centimeters in diameter. In time, it can produce offshoots and form a larger group of rosettes.
Flowers: Like other Echeverias, the hybrid 'Chantilly' can produce upright flower stalks bearing bell-shaped or tubular flowers, often pink, red or orange in color. Flowering generally takes place in spring or summer.
Light: Prefers bright but indirect light. Direct sunlight for a few hours a day is beneficial, but too much light can cause leaf discoloration or burning.
Watering: Requires moderate watering. Allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Reduce watering in winter.
Substrate: Well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix of potting soil, coarse sand and perlite or gravel.
Temperature: Tolerates a range of temperatures, but must be protected from frost. Prefers warm, dry conditions.
