Tradescantia zebrina 'Deep Purple' is also called Tradescantia zebrina 'Red'. Like the other zebrinas, it has a colorful line pattern. The cultivar 'Deep Purple' has leaves so dark purple that they are almost black. They have large variegations of a lighter purple and the underside of the leaves are shiny and a bit lighter. Tradescantia zebrina 'Deep Purple' is a fast growing creeping vine. Ideal for hanging, this plant is a perfect addition for beginners and advanced collectors.

The Tradescantia called Misery is one of the most cultivated houseplants in the world and is known to be easy. In order to stay compact and to keep its beautiful colors, it needs a very bright light, but it will burn easily in full sun. It can however be acclimatized if you go there gradually. This plant tolerates better the drought than the excess of watering.
