The Philodendron 'Rojo Congo' is a cross between the Philodendron 'Imperial Red' and the Philodendron tatei. It has an upright habit, so it is not necessary to support it with a stake. Its leathery leaves are oval, glossy and rather dark in color. The leaves are rather intense red when they grow and then become dark green on the top and almost purple underneath, as well as the petiole and the stem. This philodendron is fairly hardy and fast growing, but it doesn't get very big (2 feet - 60 cm tall) and is a good choice for small spaces.
