Hildewintera colademononis (or Cleistocactus winteri subsp. colademonis) is an epilithic cactus, which means that it grows hanging from steep rock faces. It is also called Monkey's Tail cactus. This name refers to the appearance of the hairy stems, with their long, soft white hair-like spines. Hildewintera colademononis, which is rather fast growing for a cactus, can produce very long stems and is interesting in a hanging basket or on a shelf. When blooming, the large bright red flowers are particularly decorative.

Hildewintera colademononis is easy to grow, as it does not require much care. It is a good choice for beginners.
