Origin: The Frailea mammifera is a miniature cactus native of South America, more precisely of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. This plant takes its name from its tubers which look like small teats.

Watering: As with most cacti, Frailea mammifera prefers moderate watering. In summer, water the plant when the substrate is completely dry. In winter, reduce the watering because the plant is in resting period.

Brightness: This plant appreciates a bright light, but indirectly to avoid burns. It can also tolerate low light conditions.

Substrate: A well-draining substrate is crucial for the Frailea mammifera. A mixture of cactus potting soil with sand or gravel will work well. Make sure the pot has drainage holes to avoid water accumulation.

Flower Color: Frailea mammifera produces bright yellow flowers, usually at the top of the plant. These flowers usually open in full sun.

Minimum temperature: This plant can tolerate minimum temperatures of approximately 10°C. However, it prefers warmer temperatures for optimal growth.

Growth Rate: Frailea mammifera is slow growing and can take several years to reach its maximum size of about 5 cm in diameter.
