Echeveria agavoides is a succulent plant belonging to the Crassulaceae family, widely cultivated for its attractive appearance and ease of care. Recognizable by its compact, pointed rosette that evokes the appearance of an agave, hence its name "agavoides" (agave-like), this Echeveria is particularly prized for its fleshy, thick leaves, which can display red or pink-colored margins, especially in strong sunlight.

Origin: Echeveria agavoides is native to Mexico, where it grows in rocky, semi-arid environments. Its ability to store water in its leaves enables it to survive in drought conditions.
Growth: This Echeveria is a moderate grower, reaching a diameter of around 15 cm. It often forms shoots at the base, enabling it to develop into a compact, attractive group.
Flowers: Echeveria agavoides produces upright flowering stems bearing bell-shaped flowers, usually red or pink with yellow tips. Flowering takes place mainly in spring or early summer.
Light: Prefers bright light and can tolerate full sun, especially in cooler climates or during less intense seasons. Insufficient light can lead to leaf stretching, while excessive exposure can cause burning.
Watering: As with most succulents, moderate watering is necessary. Allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and reduce watering in winter.
Substrate: Well-draining soil is essential. A cactus and succulent mix of potting soil, coarse sand and perlite or gravel is ideal.
Temperature: Tolerates a range of temperatures but must be protected from frost. Prefers warm, dry conditions.
