Consolea rubescens

Consolea rubescens is a succulent plant belonging to the Consolea genus, also known as Consolea corallicola. It is distinguished by its tree-like cactus form, with erect stems and spines. 

Origin: Native to the coastal regions and islands of the Caribbean, particularly Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
Watering: It prefers moderate, spaced watering. Allow the substrate to dry out almost completely between waterings.
Brightness: Place it in a sunny to very bright spot. It appreciates direct sunlight.
Substrate: Use a well-draining potting mix specially formulated for cacti and succulents.
Flower: Consolea rubescens can produce small white or yellow flowers from the areoles along its stems.
Temperature: It prefers warm temperatures and tolerates tropical climates well.
Growth: This succulent plant develops thick, fleshy stems with thorns. It can reach impressive heights over time.
Toxicity: The spines of this plant can be sharp and may cause skin irritation. Care should be taken when handling.
