Anthurium superbum

Brightness

Anthurium superbum is a medium-growth plant when it receives enough light. It prefers to grow in a bright environment without too much direct sunlight, but it also tolerates low light very well. Make sure that it does not receive direct sunlight on the foliage, as this can burn it.

Do not hesitate to use a horticultural lamp for the winter period.

Irrigation

Anthuriums are moisture loving plants, but they need a well aerated soil consisting of : 1/3 promix orchid mix, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 tropical plant mix.

Keep the soil moist during the summer period (March - October).

During the winter period, reduce your watering. Despite changes in temperature / light, you will need to water it every 3-4 days. 

Make sure never to leave standing water in the saucer of the plant. 

If you have decided to use a terracotta pot for your plant, be sure to water it more frequently. 

Humidity

It likes to receive moisture to keep its foliage healthy. We recommend a minimum of 60% ambient humidity as well as a daily spray on the foliage. Don't hesitate to place it on a bed of clay beads that you keep moist to help it through the winter months. 

Fertilizer

Use a liquidseaweed fertilizer once every 2 weeks from March to October. For the winter, you can completely stop or reduce the monthly fertilizer intake.
