Agave havardiana is an attractive succulent plant, adapted to xerophytic (drought-resistant) conditions. It is ideal for arid gardens and warm regions, but be aware of its thorny tips when handling.
- Origin: Native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.
- Watering: Low, drought-resistant. Allow soil to dry completely between waterings.
- Brightness: Full sun to bright light.
- Substrate: Well-drained, sandy or rocky soil.
- Flower: Produces an impressive floral spike with yellow flowers, but the plant dies after flowering.
- Temperature: Tolerates warm temperatures, but can survive frosts down to -20C.
- Growth: Slow.
- Toxicity: Non-toxic, but thorny tips can be dangerous. Use caution when handling.
