Anthurium veitchii 'King', often called the King of Anthuriums, is an impressive variety of Anthurium recognized for its long, wavy, hanging leaves that can reach spectacular lengths, sometimes over a meter. These deep, glossy green leaves have a distinctive ribbed texture that gives them a unique heart- or spear-shaped appearance.

Origin: Native to the tropical rainforests of Colombia, Anthurium veitchii 'King' thrives in conditions that mimic its natural habitat, with high humidity and filtered light.
Growth: This plant is moderate in growth and can become quite large, making it an outstanding centerpiece for any indoor space or greenhouse where humidity and temperature conditions can be controlled.
Flowers: Anthurium veitchii produces elongated spathes and erect spadices, typical of anthuriums. Flowers can vary in color from green to creamy white. Although the flowers are attractive, it's really the spectacular foliage of 'King' that attracts the most attention.
Light: Prefers bright indirect light, but can tolerate lower light levels. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
Watering: Requires regular watering to keep the substrate evenly moist, but not soggy. Good drainage is crucial to prevent root rot.
Substrate: A well-aerated, draining mix is ideal. Use a houseplant mix enriched with perlite, vermiculite or sphagnum moss to increase moisture retention and drainage.
Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures and high humidity. Protect the plant from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes.
Toxicity: Toxic plant.
