Zeolite is a natural mineral belonging to the aluminosilicate family. It forms when volcanic ash or deposits of silica and aluminum react with groundwater over time. The most remarkable feature of zeolite is its microporous crystalline structure, which gives it unique and useful properties in many fields.

Zeolite comes in a variety of crystal shapes, often prismatic or cubic. What makes zeolite special are its three-dimensional pore structures. These microscopic pores and internal channels enable water and gas molecules, as well as other ions, to be absorbed, exchanged and released. This gives it several important uses:

  1. Water filtration and purification: Because of its absorption properties, zeolite is used to filter and purify water, removing impurities, heavy metals and toxic substances.

  2. Soil amendment: In horticulture, zeolite is added to soils to improve water and nutrient retention. It can also help regulate soil moisture by gradually releasing it to plants.

Neutral pH: helps maintain a neutral pH environment thanks to its buffering effect
