Clay balls are made of clay soil, expanded at high temperatures, which gives them interesting characteristics.

Inert and porous, clay balls can be used in addition to pine bark as a substrate. They help to regulate the exchange between water and air, which is favourable to these epiphytic plants.

Maintaining humidity: The beads capture water when watering, and release it gradually as it dries, creating a humid atmosphere that many green plants appreciate.

Surfacing of pot plants: The contrast between the green of the foliage and the orange of the clay balls is quite aesthetic. It can be used as a decorative mulch.
