Echeveria 'Lotus': Echeveria 'Lotus' is a cultivated variety of Echeveria, appreciated for its delicate aesthetics and fleshy leaves forming compact rosettes. This variety is distinguished by its thick, often pale to bluish-green leaves, which may show slightly pink or red edges under strong light or when the plant is stressed. The rosettes of Echeveria 'Lotus' resemble a lotus flower, hence its name.

Origin: Although Echeverias are native to the semi-desert regions of Mexico and Central America, the 'Lotus' variety was specifically developed for its ornamental characteristics.
Growth: Echeveria 'Lotus' is slow to moderate growing. It forms rosettes that can grow to considerable size over time, but generally remains compact, making it ideal for growing in pots or small succulent gardens.
Flowers: Like other Echeverias, 'Lotus' can produce upright flower stalks bearing small, bell-shaped flowers, usually pink or red in color. Flowering typically occurs in spring or summer.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate direct sunlight, particularly in the morning or late afternoon, but excessive light can cause leaf discoloration or burning.
Watering: Requires moderate watering. Allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Reduce watering in winter.
Substrate: Well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix of potting soil, coarse sand and perlite or gravel.
Temperature: Tolerates a range of temperatures, but must be protected from frost. Prefers warm, dry conditions.
